Knowing More About The Orange Coast College Rowers

The rowers of Orange College are going for their 12th national title. This will be against four of the best universities.

They are going for their workouts in Newport Bay. This is because they are preparing for the National Championship of the American Collegiate Rowing Association Regatta 2017. It will be held in Gainesville, GA.

They are working really hard. It is evident through their sweat, aching muscles, and so on. Rowing remains as an amateur sport. It portrays power as well as grace along with unity. In a way, even the nine hearts appear to be beating as one.

The school has already won 11 national titles. Even last year they had won this title. Hence all are anticipating a repetition this year. In fact, 10 of its students have even gone ahead to world championships and even the Olympics!

Daniel Amado is the captain of the team. He is 22. He was rowing in high school, but he broke a disk in his back over here. Now he is well enough and has returned this year to this sport.

He has said that rowing is able to make you strong enough in your physical and even mental skills. Hence you are able to overcome a lot this way.

Steve Morris is serving as the assistant coach of the men’s team. He leaves at 5.30 a.m. from his home in Rancho Santa Margarita to go to Newport Harbor.

He goes on this route six days a week. The workout starts at 6:30 a.m. sharp. He is with The Orange Coast College Rowers team as this sport is very close to his heart.

He likes to talk about the aesthetic of rowing. He says the boats appear to glide. One can see how each person is doing the same thing at same time. No one can be off even slightly as it can disrupt the rhythm.

Morris is five-foot-seven. He is lithe too. He is the brain behind all those who are manning the oars. He has to sit in the rear and give commands to rowers.
