New York is full of gimmicky foods, especially when it comes to pastries and baked goods. From rainbow bagels to cronuts, people can’t seem to get enough of the novel. The bakers at Union Fare decided to go a different creative route with delicious results.
Rather than using unique techniques, Union Fare’s croissants center around flavors. Their sweet croissants come in five fun varieties: matcha, birthday cake, cookies and cream, red velvet, and creme brulee. The croissants are amazing by themselves, but you can also make them into the craziest ice cream sandwich you’ve seen with house-made ice creams and sorbets. Customers can choose from any of the flavors (vanilla, banana, caramel macchiato, strawberry sorbet, coconut sorbet, blackberry hibiscus sorbet), but the bakers offer suggestions as well. These treats are definitely pretty enough for Instagram, but even a photo can’t show how delicious and unique the flavors are.
Union Fare is a relatively new food hall and restaurant located in Union Square. The venue takes up an entire city block, so you can find a raw bar, a wine bar, poke, charcuterie, soups, salads, pizza, and more all under one roof.
